One Urge, One Plea, Keep Me Trilogy Page 10

I slip on the lace patterned, black dress. It has a V-neck and fits snug all over. The lace of the arms is see through, and the dress hits right above the knee. It’s elegant but sexy, too.

“Whoa, momma. You are smokin’ hot in that dress,” Felicia says after I walk into the living room.

“Thank you. I feel pretty good in it.”

“Harry is going to flip when he sees you.”

“Wow, you look great, Alayna,” Seth adds, coming into the room.

I feel my face warming. “Thank you. Oh, will you please give this back to Damon?” I hand him the airline ticket. Seth looks at it with wide eyes, and Felicia’s mouth falls open.

“He bought you a ticket?” she asks.

“Yes, he mailed it, encouraging me to come see him this weekend, but I told him I had purchased my own and that I have a date.”

“I wonder if we should discuss this. I mean, it was a pretty big gesture, Alayna,” Felicia says.

“Yes it was, but we’re looking for different things in life.”

“Look, I know you don’t want to be in another relationship, but he’s obviously interested.”

I let out a short laugh and cover my mouth.

“A relationship is the last thing Damon Lear is after.”

“Yes, I have to agree with Alayna on this one,” Seth says.

“Oh, so are you the one looking for a commitment now and he isn’t?” she asks with her brows raised and hands on her hips.

“That’s not what I said. Can we go please? You pressured me to meet this man, so stop trying to send me into the arms of another.”

“Yes, but I’m desperate to do anything that’ll get you to move here.”

“Have I ever told you how much I love your honesty?” I ask her.

“Yes, and the sentence usually has the word bitch at the end of it.” She smirks and loops her arm through mine as we exit the condo.

Harry is sitting next to me at the restaurant. He’s cute and seems friendly enough. His blonde hair is styled neatly, and he has a nice smile. He and Felicia work for the same graphic design company and both are in high demand. She showed me some of his work and it was impressive.

I’m drawn to creative people, but I don’t feel the magnetic pull to this man like I did for Damon. He doesn’t seem like a mystery whatsoever. Shit, Alayna. Stop comparing Harry to the gladiator. No man is going to measure up to him, not anytime soon, anyway.

“So, Alayna, I hear you write romance novels. That’s intriguing,” Harry says.

I come out of my daze and reach for my wine.

“I enjoy it, and it pays the bills.” I take a big drink. I think I’m on glass number three at this point.

“I’ll have to read one and see what all the fuss is about. I hear women talking about romance novels all the time at the office.”

“I’ll save you the trouble, Harry, and sum it up in one word. It’s called romance,” Seth says with a chuckle. “All women yearn for it, and their book boyfriends seem to be better at giving it.”

Felicia playfully swats Seth on the arm.

“Oh, stop. They might be better at romance, but they can’t give us anything else.”

Seth dramatically covers his heart with his hand.

“Oh, that hurts. I’ve always suspected you were only using me for my body.”

Felicia rolls her eyes, and we all laugh. She leans over and gives him a sweet kiss on the cheek, and I find myself envious. I curse Damon under my breath for causing those feelings to resurface. I was doing just fine without romance and a man before he came along.

I ask Harry about some of his designs I’ve seen, and that gets Felicia involved in the conversation. They spend at least the next twenty minutes discussing work. I’m now on my fourth glass of wine, and it’s hitting me all at once. I need to assess why I feel a need to drink so much tonight.

Oh yes, because this man is boring as hell, and I know there’s this handsome, god like creature only minutes away, who can light me up like the damn Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center. I truly miss the arrogant ass.

  Chapter Four

  Damon

“Possession is nine-tenths of the law.”

Around eight o’clock, I make my way out of my penthouse and hurry down to valet, dialing Quinn as I walk. “Did you follow them?”

“Yes, sir. I was about to text you the address. You’re not going to get me arrested for burglary or make me an accomplice to kidnapping are you, sir?” he asks wearily.

  “Overstepping, Quinn,” I reply.

“Sorry, sir. It’s a first for me to follow someone or break into a home.”

“That makes two of us. Ms. Wynn will leave with me willingly so no worries. Just do as I instructed. I’m paying you extra for this. I’ll see you first thing Monday morning.”

“Yes, sir.” Quinn sounds unsure of my plan as we end the call. I’m beginning to find it humorous how I stress him out. Valet pulls up in my GT-R. After getting in, I put the address Quinn texted me into the GPS. I turn onto Fifth Ave. and head south.

The closer I get to the restaurant, the more my pulse quickens. Knowing I’ll soon see Alayna and take her home with me has my mind filling with fantasies. When I arrive, I pull a hundred out of my wallet and hand it to the young man standing next to my car at valet.

“Keep this near and running, and don’t call the cops on me if you feel a need to later.”

“Um, sure, sir.” He casts a concerned expression as I hand him my keys. Geez, I’m not a felon.

After paying off the hostess, I make my way to the entrance of the hall leading to the restroom. I take a step back, so I’m inconspicuous in the dimly lit hallway.

Scanning the spacious room with at least forty tables, it only takes me seconds to spot her. Damn, she’s gorgeous tonight. The surge of anger I feel next is unwelcomed, but I can’t control it.

The man sitting next to Alayna has his head turned toward her, and I know that look of admiration. He can forget it. She’s leaving with me shortly. I pull out my phone to text her.

Me: I’ve never seen a more beautiful woman. The lace suits you.

I watch her pull her phone from her purse and hold it in her lap. After a couple of seconds, her head shoots up, eyes wide. Alayna searches the room briefly before tucking her head down again. I see her date, Felicia and Seth talking amongst each other.

Alayna: Why the fuck are you here?

Me: Mmm ... your dirty mouth tells me you’ve had a lot to drink and so does the wine bottle and empty glass sitting next to you.

Alayna: I’m really not up for your games, Damon.

Me: Restroom, now, Alayna. Give me five minutes.

I watch her finger go to her mouth, so she can bite her nail. I’ve made her nervous. Perfect. For fuck sakes, woman. Stop staring at your phone and get up.

Me: I know you have that finger between those lips on purpose, and I’m going to stick something else in that sweet tasting, naughty mouth of yours real soon if you don’t remove it and meet me by the restrooms.

I watch her face turn red as she quickly removes her finger.

  Alayna: You get three minutes.

Whatever. It’s going to be an entire weekend. She says something and smiles at the man next to her. If she doesn’t get her ass over here soon, I might have to kick his.

Leisurely, she strolls toward me. Her hand goes across her stomach as she gets closer, and I feel my stomach doing the same damn thing. God, I can’t believe how bad I desire her. As soon as she reaches me, I watch her suck in a breath.

Taking her arm, I push her against the wall and pin her against it with my body. I hear a door to one of the restrooms open, but I don’t care who’s around. My nose goes behind her ear and dips into her hair, and her floral scent infiltrates my senses.

“As I expected, you smell incredible,” I whisper.

“Damon.” It’s all she gets out as she gasps for air. Her chest rises and falls against mine,
and I’m dying to take her right here.

“Leave with me. Spend the weekend at my place.” I graze my lips down her neck, and she tilts her head back, eager for more. I reach her throat and feel her swallow against my mouth.

“That won’t be good for either of us, and you know it.”

“Bullshit. It will be fucking fantastic. I didn’t get to pleasure you enough so let me, Alayna.”

“I’m on a date, Damon. I can’t leave, and I can’t get any closer to you. It’s not healthy for my heart.”

“I’m giving you the option to do this voluntarily.”

Her hands grip my biceps as I make my way back up her neck, my mouth barely planting kisses. Her smooth, aromatic skin lures me in even more.

“What is that supposed to mean?”

“You can walk out of here or be carried out, but I’m not taking no for an answer. Admit that you want me.”

“Fine, I want you. I want to go back to your place, but it doesn’t change anything.”

“Like hell it doesn’t. You just made it clear that it’s not kidnapping when I do this.” In a split second, I have her hoisted over my shoulder. She lets out a squeal, drawing the attention of the patrons at the table closest to the hallway. I march us right through the middle of the restaurant.

She’s smacking my back. “Damon, you’ve lost your mind!”

I glance across the room and watch her date do a double take. He begins to stand, so Seth turns his body. When he sees me, he’s on his feet immediately and begins heading my way.

I notice Felicia looking now, her eyes wide as silver dollars. I watch her mouth fall open before she turns back and throws her napkin on the table. I’m in deep shit.

Everyone is staring as I make it out the door. The young valet guy is standing by my running car. His eyes widen next.

“Open the passenger door,” I yell to him.

“You can’t carry me out of here like this, you big Neanderthal.”

“Possession is nine-tenths of the law, baby. You want it. You said so yourself.”

“Damon!” Ah, shit. I hear the voice of my good friend behind me.

  “Go away, Seth.”

“You’re crazier than I thought. Felicia’s going to kill the both of us. Let her go.”

“No, she said she wanted to go with me.”

“He’s twisting my words, Seth,” Alayna says as I drop her to her feet.

“No, I’m quite certain you said you wanted to go back to my place.”

“You bastard!” I see the anger in her eyes as her forehead scrunches. I lean over to her ear.

“Baby, save the name calling for when I make you wait to come.”

She huffs and smacks my arm with her purse. This isn’t funny anymore.

“Get in the car, Alayna,” I order as calmly as I can muster.

“No, and you can’t make me.” She tries to cross her arms, but I have hold of one of them and won’t let her.

“Damon, you heard her. Let her go,” Seth says.

Looking toward him, I see Felicia and Alayna’s date coming out the door. Dammit. I close my eyes for a moment before I take hold of her face.

“Alayna, please leave with me. You’re all I’ve thought about for over a month. I’ve been going out of my mind not being able to see you.”

Her fingernail goes right to her teeth.

“Damon, Alayna, what the hell is going on?” Felicia asks.

I watch Alayna glance to her and then back to me. The nervous valet guy is standing behind the car door. She’s basically pinned between me and the inside of my GT-R. The seconds feel like an eternity before she finally pulls her nail from her mouth.

“I’ll go with you,” she says barely above a whisper. I feel the breath I was holding leave me. She looks to Felicia and Harry.

“I’m so sorry.” She gives them a sympathetic look and slides into the seat. I shut the door and give the valet guy a nod.

“You need your head examined, man. I know you’re used to getting your way, but you can’t just take what you want, whenever you feel like it,” Seth says as I’m walking around to the driver side.

I glance to Felicia and the date, who are looking at me with shocked expressions. Without a word, I get into the car and throw it into gear. Piece of cake.

  Alayna

Damon never ceases to amaze me. I’m stunned as I sit in the passenger seat of his car. He’s quiet, and I’m at a loss for words. Nothing is said until we walk into his penthouse.

“I have nothing here, you know. My things are at Seth and Felicia’s.”

“Quinn took care of gathering your belongings.” He hangs his coat on a rack in the foyer.

  “How is that possible?”

“I have a key to their place, so I gave it to him to use.”

“He broke into their home and handled my things?” I ask, yelling.

“Calm down. You’re making it a bigger deal than it is.” He walks over and rubs his hands up and down my arms. “You’re cold. I’m sorry I didn’t manage to grab your coat at the restaurant. I’ll buy you a new one if Felicia didn’t take it with her.”

I clench my fists and groan. “I don’t even know what to say in regard to your behavior, Damon. I’m going to my room.”

I pull away from him and head toward the hallway. I manage to take a couple of steps into it before his hands are on me. I’m instantly shoved against another wall by his thick, masculine body that’s pressing into me hard.

I suck in a breath but can’t release it since his mouth is crashing onto mine. He forces his tongue in as both his hands bury into my hair. He clutches it tight, and I can feel the pull from my scalp. His dick’s already stiff, and I’m wet with desire. Damn him.

Releasing my lips, he shoves his face against my neck. I tilt my chin up, finally able to exhale the rush of oxygen that’s taking up space in my lungs.

“Dammit, Alayna. You’re like a fucking drug.” His breath seeps through my hair until it’s hot on my skin. Lifting his head, he brings my chin to him. As usual, my lip is defying me, quivering from Damon’s touch.

He’s gripping it tight as his striking gaze pierces me. “Don’t walk away from me again.” Lips slam against mine, and my body is winning the battle against what my mind is screaming at me to do, which is to break free from his hold.

One of his hands leaves my hair and travels down my body to my thigh. Fingers slip under the hem of my dress and glide their way up my leg. I feel them circling the lace at the top of my thigh highs before he’s rumbling against my lips. “Are you trying to drive me insane?”

“No, I didn’t wear them with the intentions of you touching them,” I say indignantly.

“Don’t even say someone else was supposed to be, Alayna.” He’s giving me that look below his greedy, hooded lids. “No other man will be touching you.”

I’m crashing my lips to his this time as his possessiveness turns me on more. His fingers continue their trail up my thigh, and needing him to fuck me right here, I begin frantically unbuttoning his khakis.

He’s groaning as his hand in my hair grips tighter and the other shoves my dress up to my waist. Yanking his pants down some, his erection springs free, causing Damon to let my dress go. He reaches into his pants pocket and pulls out a condom. The arrogant bastard.

Ripping the package open by his teeth, he’s holding it in a second. I swipe it from his hands and slide it onto his straining erection. The second I have it down his length, he’s taking both hands and shoving up my dress again.

He grabs my black thong and rips it off. I feel a sting to the side of my leg that is soon forgotten when Damon picks me up. I wrap my arms around his neck and legs around his waist before I sink onto his magnificently wide cock.

A loud sigh escapes as the feeling of completeness washes over me. His fingers dig into my ass cheeks as he pulls me down onto him farther, filling me in one strong thrust. My back shoves against the wall as he drives in over and over.

  Ev
ery powerful thrust is like a message from him, telling me that he will take what he wants. He’s a confusing man, but one I’m drawn to in an electrifying way. He says I’m like a drug, but he’s the unhealthy fix of ecstasy that I’m fearful I could never get enough of.

The pleasure grows with every aching slam, and I’m not going to be able to hold on much longer. I slide my fingers up into his hair and clutch it tight.

“If you’re going to touch my hair, then I’m going to bite your neck, Alayna.”

I shudder and gasp for air as I grapple to speak.

  “Sounds like a fair trade.”

He growls and sinks his teeth into the right side of my neck. I fight a shrill as my skin pulls with them. OK, that’s not an even trade.

He lets go but only to find another spot to bite. I yank his hair harder and feel the stings, losing count of the times his teeth mark me. The pleasure and pain combined send me soaring over the edge.

I dig my heels into his backside as I squeeze my legs tighter, unraveling into chaos from my dress scraping my back, his fingers pressing into my ass cheeks, his teeth on my neck, and the lightheadedness from the wine. The sensations overwhelm me, and I feel like I’m going to pass out.

“Alayna,” Damon says in a loud, drawn out growl before he drives into me and stills, pushing me harder into the wall. Deep inside, I feel the pulsing of his release.

My arms drop between us, and my head falls to his shoulder. His breath stings the broken skin on my neck, but it comforts me. I’m tethered to him from those marks.

Exhausted, I have no idea how long he holds me. Feeling us pull away from the wall, Damon slowly walks us. He’s still semi-hard inside me, and I can feel his heartbeat against the palm I have on his chest.

“Alayna, I’m going to stand you up.”

Opening my eyes, I see we’re by the bed I slept in the last time I was here. I sigh as he pulls out of me and drops me to my feet. He messes with the condom, and I can’t keep my eyes open while I wait.

  “Are you OK?” he asks.

“Are you going to ask me that every time we have sex?”

“I thought you were passed out for a second back there.”

“It’s the wine.” Finally looking up, I meet his gaze. A few black strands of hair are wet against his forehead, and he’s still breathing hard.
